At 4CRM, we make sure we play
“something for everyone.”
This means that we play a huge (and we mean almost endless) variety of music – from the 60’s. 70,s 80’s, 90’s, naughties and now. And that includes popular music, rock, country, soul and blues, jazz, religious, ethnic, request and countdown shows – and more of course!

The History of 4CRM
4CRM had been a dream of just one man in particular, Mr. Ross Taylor. A handful of individuals joined Ross and were just as dedicated to the success of Mackay’s first Community Radio Station.
After a long line of written applications for licenses, the organization of telephones, faxes and necessary equipment, 4CRM began broadcasting on the 11th of December 1993, on frequency 107.5 FM.
John Pickup was the first Station Manager of 4CRM. As former Manager of ABC, John had 45 years of broadcasting experience. In 1988, John celebrated his 50th year in radio and was presented with a special award at 4CRM’s ‘CRAMMY’ awards that year.
The Station is governed by a Management Committee (The Board) consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, four Directors and the Station Manager as ex-officio. The Board members are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
Mainstream music generally takes place from 6am to 6pm every Monday to Friday and specialist programmes take over from 6pm until midnight. Every Saturday and Sunday from 6am until midnight you’ll hear a host of specialist programmes
A lot of devoted people are involved in the continuing success of 4CRM. Thus it is imperative that we work together to continue to broadcast successfully. We need continual support from Local Businesses and the Community. 4CRM is a voice for a number of Community Organizations that need help. In our everyday programmes we delight in the contributions from a wide range of folks from school children through to seniors.

I would like to request a song
Great! Most of our programs allow for requests. The best way to get your favourite tune on the radio is to give us a call on 4953 1411.
I tried calling, but no one answered.
Sometimes our announcers are busy on air, or preparing for their show, and therefore can’t get to the phone. You can always try calling back another time if no one is answering.
Can 4CRM broadcast at our event?
We sure can! We love getting out and about in our community. 4CRM are able to do a live broadcast from most locations, however only some of our presenters are able to do a live outside broadcast. Please contact us during office hours to talk more about it.
How can I become a presenter?
We love encouraging new on-air presenters. If you have a great taste in music (whatever that may be), and you’d love to be on air, please contact us here.
